WALL PIECES

Underlying all of my work is an exploration of life, death, regeneration, metamorphosis and ascension. Living with uncertainty and fragility are also long time concerns. I often create large-scale installations and outdoor environments.

Dimensional wallpieces have become a related approach that explores themes in series. These works are well suited to galleries and other indoor spaces, shown individually and in groups. They may become the center point of a public space, setting its tone and purpose. The imagery can be abstract and/or representational. Often the works incorporate natural elements, including branches, roots, weeds and milkweed, with man-made, ephemeral elements such as simulated stained glass, scrim fabrics and broken glass.

At times these works are wall installations. They may have separate layers with natural and other internal lighting that enhances the dimensional and holographic effects.
