As a seasoned artist, educator and therapeutic facilitator, I've observed the power of creativity in people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, in community, educational and healthcare settings. Transformative Arts incorporates a holistic, multi-dimensional, fine arts approach. Participants create individual and collaborative art through innovative, cumulative and empowering processes. All are encouraged to discover authentic visions. Participants inspire themselves and others as attitudes, abilities and concrete accomplishments grow. Simultaneously, individual art, exhibited or unified into collaborative works, emanates outwards to enrich the community.

Individual work includes different forms of drawing, painting, collage, sculpture and installations. Collaborative projects include murals, tapestries, wallpieces, illuminated windows, pathways and environments. Writing, music, journeling, and meditation may be integrated as well. Programs are custom designed for any group including children, teens, adults and elders. They can be intergenerational or age specific, offered to those with full capacities or those challenged with illnesses and disabilities. Participants can focus on their independent work or follow suggested projects. Some projects will focus on issues such as uncertainty, social justice and climate change.

Program Options, Public Art and Exhibitions

On Site Art Programs
In an open studio atmosphere all are respected as artists, encouraged to experiment in diverse visual arts modalities. Ideally programs are ongoing. They can be one to several months as well, intergenerational or targeted for specific groups. Pandemic safety measures will be practiced as needed.

On Line Art Programs
In response to the pandemic and our changing times, zoom programs are offered. These will be custom designed for particular groups. Cumulative projects will be suggested. Supplies can be found at home, purchased independently or purchased and delivered upon request.

Individual Instruction
Instruction is offered in person, one on one, or on zoom. An initial conversation will determine the person’s needs and priorities. A cumulative work plan will be developed.

Public Art Projects
Collaborative art can grow from short and ongoing programs. Projects include murals, tapestries, wallpieces, illuminated painting, gardens, pathways and environments. Inclusive projects offer compelling roles for participants at all levels. Individuals create their own components that become part of greater wholes. A core group creates key parts of the project, with a larger group contributing smaller components.

Designing Art Programs and Public Art Projects
Drawing from years in the field, I guide organizations and individuals in developing effective visual arts programs. I design and orchestrate public art projects that grow out of these programs with projects that may be thematic and timely.

Curating Exhibitions
Exhibitions raise consciousness in the larger community, empower creators and culminate programs. They can be in galleries, other public spaces and on line. I can organize and curate chosen exhibitions.
