LUNAR MANDALA

This one day opera performance involved many groups interacting around the Lincoln Center grounds. At risk youth from Poughkeepsie, NY and those touched by cancer from Kingston, NY collaboratively created illuminated mandalas that became a central kaleidoscope-like sculpture. The trees in Damrosh Park  became the middle ground of the environmental mandala. A lattice fence, through which viewers wove recycled fabrics and fibres throughout the day, became the exterior perimeter of the environment.
