Self-Created Environments   Participatory Environments   Collaborative Murals

Public art seeks to integrate art into highly trafficked community settings so that all people can enjoy beauty, meaning and enrichment from witnessing art as they move through their daily activities.  Participation in the creation of these public places deepens the experience of building community through cumulative and collaborative processes.  This community based work harks back to the wisdom of earlier societies that integrated the arts seamlessly into daily life.

I have a long time passion for and expertise in the field of public art, both as a sole creator working with communities, and as a facilitator who orchestrates non professionals in the creation of collaborative, community based projects.  I worked for many years in New York City neighborhoods, in upstate New York cities and towns, as well as other cities such as Philadelphia, Phoenix, Dallas and Pittsburgh.  These projects are process oriented, nature based, sometimes historical and often, contemplative.  They are easily accessed and inclusive.
